Electronic devices allowed on Brazil commercial flights

BRASÍLIA (BDCi) – The Brazilian National Civil Aviation Agency announced on Thursday (30) that the use of electronic devices will be allowed on commercial flights until the end of the year.

Airlines can apply for permission to use such devices and must certify that they will not interfere with the flight’s operations, like communications and navigation systems.

Currently, the use of cell phones, cameras, laptops and other devices is prohibited during take-off, landing and even while on the runway.

Passengers will now be able to make calls and use the Internet while planes are grounded or in flight.
