LAS VEGAS (BDCi) – The 15th Annual Latin Grammy Awards were held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Paradise, Nevada this past Thursday (20), where several Brazilian artists and performers were up for an award.
In addition to wins in the various Brazilian music categories, the group Trio Corrente and Cuban Paquito D’Rivera tied with Chick Corea for Jazz Album of the Year with their “Song For Maura.”
Erasmo Carlos won Brazilian Rock Album of the Year with “Gigante Gentil” and Caetano Veloso’s “A Bossa Nova É Foda” won Brazilian Song of the Year.

Aline Barros – “Graça,” Christian album (Portuguese language)
Ivete Sangalo – “Multishow Ao Vivo – Ivete Sangalo 20 Anos,” Brazilian contemporary pop album
Maria Rita – “Coração A Batucar,” Samba/pagode album
Marisa Monte – “Verdade, Uma Ilusão,” MPB (Musica Popular Brasileira) Album
Sérgio Reis – “Questão De Tempo,” Sertaneja music album
Alceu Valença – “Amigo Da Arte,” Brazilian roots album
Song of the Year went to Enrique Iglesias, Descemer Bueno and the group Gente de Zona for their international hit “Bailando.”
