SÃO PAULO (BDCi) – The major online retailer Amazon began selling physical books in Brazil this Thursday (21).
The company’s CEO Jeff Bezos says the new Amazon service will carry over 150,000 titles in Portuguese.
Amazon began its e-book services in Brazil back in early 2012 with a catalog of 13,000 titles. Today, more than 35,000 e-book titles are available in Portuguese.
According to Amazon Brazil’s vice president Alexandre Szapiro, e-books will have a 5% share of the country’s book market by the end of the year.
