The 2014 Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival

HOLLYWOOD (BDCi) – The 6th Annual HBRFest is almost here, bringing with it a remarkable collection of films from the Brazilian cinema scene.

The Opening Night Gala will kick off this Friday (21) with the Los Angeles premiere of “A Wolf Behind the Door,” directed by Fernando Coimbra and starring Leandra Leal.

The red carpet event starts at 7:00 p.m.

Other festival screenings include the U.S. premiere of Ricardo Targino’s “Lyrics (Quase Samba)” and the L.A. premiere of the provocative LGBT drama “Tattoo (Tatuagem)” from Hilton Lacerda.

Also taking place right before the festival kicks off, legendary actor Edward James Olmos (“Stand and Deliver”) will be presented the HBR Honors Awards, which recognizes individuals that support and pave the way for Brazilian filmmaking.

HBRFest will also honor the Brazilian-American actress Morena Baccarin with the Horizon Awars, given for outstanding work in American film and television.

The Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival, sponsored by Copa Air and the Brazilian Consulate, will be held at the Montalbán Theatre on 1615 Vine Street in Hollywood (90028) from November 21 to 23.
