Final tests for Brazil’s World Cup stadiums

1 Mins read

SÃO PAULO (BDCi) – The final stadiums for the 2014 World Cup hosted Brazilian league matches on Sunday (18), leaving Brazilian organizers satisfied with their overall functionality, despite admitted issues.

One of the final stadiums, the Itaquerão stadium in São Paulo, which will host the opening match between Brazil and Croatia on June 12, still has a leaking roof.

A large crowd of fans on the field at the second stadium Arena Pantanal in Cuiaba was only a small disruption.

Glass covers meant to shield Sunday’s spectators from rain will not be installed until after the World Cup and fans will continue to experience connection and communications problems at some venues throughout the soccer tournament.

The Itaquerão and Arena Pantanal were two of the most delayed stadiums among the 12 host cities.

Test events have now been held at all 12 of the World Cup stadiums, but some are still awaiting the installation of seats.
