Suspect fires gun outside Hollywood Club, injures 2 LOS ANGELES (BDCi) – Los Angeles Police said a man fired a gun into a crowd outside of a Hollywood nightclub after being escorted to leave early Friday morning. The shooting occurred outside of La Vida nightclub on the 1400 block of N. Gower Street after 1a.m, said Andy Smith, a commander of the Los Angeles Police Department. Smith said the man was ejected from the club and returned ten minutes later with a handgun that he retrieved from his car. Officials said the man fired various times, hitting a security officer in his leg. A 36-year old woman who was standing nearby received a superficial wound in the leg from one of the bullets discharged.
Smith said the security guard’s condition was listed as stable while the woman who grazed in the leg was treated by paramedics at the scene.
“Our detectives are reviewing security videos and checking I.D. card swipes at the club,” Smith said regarding the pending investigation.
