WORLD CUP: Another stadium delay for Brazil

CUIABÁ (BDCi) – Due to a late shipment of seats, organizers of the 2014 World Cup were forced to further postpone the opening of the Arena Pantanal stadium.

According to Silval Barbosa, state governor of Mato Grasso, the final 11,000 seats had only just arrived at the 41,000-capacity venue and will be fitted by May 10.

FIFA had been promised by local officials that the stadium would be ready by Monday (5), with the World Cup set to begin in just a few weeks.

Arena Pantanal has already hosted three test events in spite of its unfinished state and will be the site for group matches like Chile vs. Australia, Colombia vs. Japan and Nigeria vs. Bosnia.
