Shoppers crowd malls for after Christmas sales
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (BDCi) – Shoppers across the country are expected to crowd malls Monday as they return holiday gifts and look for bargains.
Retail analysts say stores are eager to unload merchandise that did not sell before Christmas. The day after Christmas typically is the second-highest revenue day for retailers. As much as $8 billion is spent on that one day alone.
Stores will see a lot of gift card recipients looking to get exactly what they wanted for the holidays.
Shopper-Trak is predicting traffic at malls and stores could rise as much as 60% compared to last year.
