Rapper Heavy D Dies at 44
(BDCi) — Heavy D, the famous 1990s rapper, died Tuesday at the age of 44. The star was best known for his single Now That We Found Love.
According to PEOPLE, The L.A. Coroner Chief Craig Harvey said the rapper passed away. “I can confirm that he died today.”
Harvey added, “He was transported from a residence in Beverly Hills and was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead in the emergency room. The cause of death is yet to be determined; we’re investigating it now. We do know that he last saw his doctor two weeks ago.”
It didn’t take long for people to hear the sad news. Hip-hop star Grandmaster Flash tweeted, “I was just told Heavy D passed away,” on Tuesday afternoon.
Heavy D, released an album in 2009, Reggage, which talks about his roots. He was born in Jamaica and had performed at the Michael Jackson Tribute Concert in Wales on October 8.
