Police search for rape suspect in Lake View Terrace
LOS ANGELES- (BDCi) — Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly assaulted and raped a young woman in her 20’s at the Hansen Dam Recreation area in Lake View Terrace Thursday.
Los Angeles Police Department Detective Donald Razzano stated that the woman was walking on a bicycle path about 9:30 p.m when a man suddenly grabbed her and dragged her into a secluded area.
Razzano says this is uncommon for these areas. As to efforts to try and link this incident with a few similar cases that happened in the area in 2008, that investigation has not concluded.
Razzano confirmed as such, “We don’t have a serial rapist at this point walking in the park.”
The suspect is described to be in his twenty’s and about 5-feet 6, 200 pounds with black hair and brown eyes and a mole on his right cheek.
Razzano advises that people should walk, jog, or bike using the buddy system for safety reasons when going into these areas.
