CHAMPAIGN (BDCi) – A local Chicago student from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign died in Brazil this week.
Ashley Walls died on Monday (23) after she apparently contracted a disease while studying abroad in South America.
She is the daughter of frequent political candidate William “Dock” Walls.
Another student from U of I went missing on Saturday (21) when he went swimming in the Atlantic Ocean with two other students.
Richard Fu, 20, was pulled away from shore off the coast of Arraial do Cabo, near Rio de Janeiro.
Brazilian authorities have widened the search for Fu and the university is helping to get Fu’s family to Brazil.
