Los Angeles Kings vs St. Louis Blues (Game 4)

LOS ANGELES, CA (BDCi) – The Los Angeles Kings are in a bit of a hole in their NHL playoff series as it is tilted in favor of the St. Louis Blues at two games to one, the Los Angeles Kings were looking to use home ice to their advantage and earn a 2-2 split in their series. Would the Kings be able to use their home crowd to will their way to a victory? Or would they crumble and fail and fall into a 3-1 hole?

In the first period the Kings immediately fell into a hole as the Blues scored just under two minutes into the game as David Backes scored to make it a 1-0 lead for the Kings. Several minutes later the Blues took a 2-0 lead as T.J. Oshie scored to open up the Blues lead to a wider gap. The Kings however would not back down as Jeff Carter would pull the Kings into within one goal just under ten minutes into the game. The Kings would eventually tie it at two as Dustin Penner later scored about five minutes later to tie the score at two and send it into the first intermission tied up.

In the second period the Blues once again took the lead as T.J. Oshie netted his second goal of the game to give the Blues a 3-2 lead. After that goal though Jonathan Quick would shut down the Blues for the rest of the game and not allow another goal. The Kings however would be stymied by Blues goaltender Brian Elliott the rest of the period as the Blues would go into the third period leading 3-2.

In the third period the Kings would rebound with two goals of their own to earn a victory as Anze Kopitar and Justin Williams would score to give the Kings a 4-3 lead and victory in the game.

The Kings are now tied at two games a piece with the St. Louis Blues in their series and will now return to St. Louis where they will look to steal game 5 of the series before trying to earn a series victory back home in game six.
