LAPD to enforce curfew law at X Games LOS ANGELES (BDCI) – Los Angeles police are enforcing curfew laws during the 17th X Games held in downtown this weekend. Per the Los Angeles municipal code, children under the age of 18 who are not accompanied by an adult are not permitted in public places between 10 pm and sunrise. Examples of public places are streets, parks or buildings. Exceptions to curfew rules are made if an underage child is running errands for a parent or guardian, traveling to an event or work or is on the sidewalk next to their home. Violations of the rule can result in a fine up to $675 and may include community service. It can also affect whether minors could keep or apply for their driver’s license. The X Games which features action sport competitions that appeal to kids – skateboarding, motocross, BMX and rally car racing – runs until Sunday.
LAPD will continue to monitor the Staples Center and LA Live closely this weekend for curfew breakers.
