It’s raining fashion…on a budget of course
LOS ANGELES, CA (BDCi) – – Hello my fashionistas!
Isn’t the fall season one of the most romantic seasons of the year? Do you want to know why in my humble opinion? It’s not so hot, not so cold, and on top of that, if you live in Los Angeles like I do, you get to enjoy the season with the spots of rain we get here and there. That explains why there is a great reason to go out and shop for the perfect outfit to welcome the rain.
For fashionistas like you and me, all we need is a reason to go shopping. The rain is definitely a great reason. Don’t shop for the sake of it. If you have passion for making a statement in fashion with your wardrobe, then go ahead and do it. And doing great research never hurts.
The three items I picked to share here today are extremely important to have. It doesn’t matter if you are in a city that constantly rains or one that rains off and on; you’ve got to be ready. And as usual I will guide you to go for the bargains versus the expensive stuff. Ready??
Plastic rain boots: You need to be prepared for the rain by having one of these boots in your closet. They are a must-have as they will save you from wetness and most importantly from destroying your beautiful non-water-proof shoes. Remember, these boots might not be the most alluring items to have, but as a fashionista, your job is to open your mind for new trends and in this case to find the perfect pair that fits your look. Trust me, I did a lot of research, and the cute, hot and edgy options are countless. Here is where you can find plastic rain boots on a budget: Target, Forever 21, H&M, Zappos.com, and Nordstrom Rack among others. Don’t be afraid to embrace it – you can definitely look very stylish. Just be creative when putting your ensemble together!
Trench Coat: Any fashionista goes crazy with this coat style. It’s absolutely classy and gorgeous and unfortunately, it cannot be worn every day. It’s mainly for cold and rainy days, but you may wear it sometimes in other unique situations. The trench coat is a raincoat made of waterproof heavy-duty cotton (e.g. gabardine, drill or poplin) or leather. It is generally of long length and can be found in different fabrics, styles and thickness. The price of this style of coat can range anywhere from the cheapest price like $40 (at department stores mentioned above), to $2,000 (from famous designers). I usually pick the bargain prices because this way I can have more than one!!
The fashionable looking Umbrella: I know it’s not often considered a fashion item, but why not an umbrella to go with your trench coat and your awesome plastic rain boots? A very nice looking and classy umbrella will complement the look just right.
What? Too much thought is being put here over the practical matter of staying warm and dry? Just think about it!! After all, you read this column because presumably, you ALWAYS want to look gorgeous, right?
Hope you enjoyed my fashion tips this week, and stay dry my dear friends.
