Hollywood announces nominees for the 12th Latin Grammy Awards
LOS ANGELES,CA (BDCi) — The Latino Recording Academy announced, Wednesday its nominations for the 12th Annual Latin Grammy Awards soon to take place in the glamorous city of Las Vegas.
The nominations were announced at the Avalon in Hollywood early in the morning to various media outlets. The President and CEO of The Latin Recording Academy Gabriel Abaroa Jr. made sure to mention that the venue were chosen due to its great Music History.
One of most popular and talented LatinoTV personalities like Giselle Blondet shared the stage with Abaroa Jr. to introduced the official artist of this year Awards, Mr. Miguel Paredes. His collection of artwork will be represented as the main image for the world’s premier Latin music event which will be used on the official cover of the 12th Annual Latin Grammy Awards invitation, show, tickets, poster, program book, and other significant applications.
“The combination of Paredes’ trend-forward techniques and pop art style creates a visually stunning use of colors interwoven with a complexity of graphic imagery that culminates in a creative array centered against Latin music’s most prestigious award,” said Gabriel Abaroa Jr. “In keeping with the progressive nature of our organization and the ever-evolving climate of Latin music, it is with great pleasure that we introduce Paredes’ contemporary piece to the roster of incredible artists who have created indelible images on behalf of the Latin Grammy’s,” stated Abaroa in a written statement.
The presenters included Calle 13 who is already being nominated ten times under different categories. Two-time Latin Grammy Award winner—Pepe Aquilar was also there to introduce the nominees for the category, “Mejor Cancion Urban” or “Best Urban song”. Popular Norteno group, Los Tucanes de Tijuana joined the stage along with these other artists to present other nominees in different categories.
Ricky Martin and Enrique Iglesias are two high profiled artists who are well received both in the English and Spanish Market that were also nominated for a category.
Chilean sensation—Myriam Hernandez glowed on stage when she too presented a nominee while encouraging the media to applaud and laugh stating that the press conference was a“fiesta” and that it was okay to smile out loud.
The Latin Recording Academy is considers an international, membership-bases organization composed of Portuguese-speaking recording artists, musicians, songwriters, producers and other diverse and technical recording professionals.
Its existence has long celebrated the music of different Latino cultures while also improving the quality of and cultural condition for Latino music and the extraordinary talented people behind it.
