Dodgers’ bankruptcy creditors’ panel includes Stow family
LOS ANGELES (BDCi)–The U.S. trustee in the Los Angeles Dodgers’ bankruptcy case have chosen five parties to be members of a committee to represent the interests of all unsecured creditors. Per the Bankruptcy code, the Dodgers, as the debtor, are liable to pay the legal bills of the committee.
Among the five members on the list, is Bryan Stow’s family. Stow was the northern California paramedic who was savagely beaten in the Dodger Stadium parking lot at the conclusion of the opening day game. Stow is currently rehabilitating in a San Francisco hospital. (In fact, Stow is having reconstructive head surgery as this story is published.)
Although the Dodgers do not owe money currently to the Stows, the family has sued the Dodgers for inadequate security over the parking lots where the violent incident took place.
KABC radio, the Dodgers’ flagship station, is also on the panel as well as the Major League Baseball Players’ Association who represent the players in collective bargaining negotiations.
The unsecured creditors panel will be representing the likes of Manny Ramirez and several other current and former players, not to mention hall of fame announcer Vin Scully.
