Crosses on SoCal highway cause complaints

Crosses on SoCal highway cause complaints San Diego, CA (BDCi) – Three visibly large crosses that sit along Highway 79 in San Diego will now be removed after transit officials received a citizen’s complaint, reports to CBS. A local pastor, Rick Hill, of the Hillside Community Church has claimed the crosses, according to Catherine Bruce-Johnson, spokeswoman for Cal Trans. The crosses will be removed and stored until Hill finds a spot to display them on church grounds. Although this agreement has been reached, CBS reports that there is a counter-effort to maintain the crosses at their current location.

This incident, however, comes preceded by many years of similar controversies in San Diego. There are still very visible crosses resting in La Jolla on Mount Soledad and near La Mesa on Mount Helix.
