Controversial program lets teens get free condoms online
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (BDCi) – A new program that lets teenagers order free condoms online is angering may parents, who see it as an endorsement of teen sex.

The California Family Health Council, a non-profit group operates the website TeenSource.org.

Their “Condom Access Program” allows teens between the ages of 12 and 19 years old to order a free pack of 10 condoms, lubricant and a health brochure every month. Proponents say the program encourages safe sex, and removes the embarrassment associated with buying condoms in a store. However critics say it’s making teen sex too easy and accessible. Some also say the TeenSource.org website is catering to younger children with its language and cartoon-type pictures and graphics.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, more than 1/3 of teens between 15 and 19 are having sex.
