GLENDALE, CA (BDCi) — The Glendale Civic Auditorium has been the home of the Glendale Gun Show for 20 years, but now the city of Glendale has approved an ordinance banning a long-running gun show and similar events from being held on city property.
After the Sandy Hook school shooting in Connecticut, growing public pressure led lawmakers to start considering the ban. The proposal was first suggested by Councilman Rafi Manoukian back in December. The City Council voted 3-2 on Tuesday night in favor of the ban, which bars the possession and sale of all guns and ammunition on city-owned property.
It does not affect gun stores already in Glendale. The ban is expected to be officially adopted on March 19.
