Brazil’s Curtibia World Cup stadium not ready yet

RIO DE JANEIRO,BRAZIL (BDCi) — Arena da Baixada, the most delayed of the 12 World Cup stadiums has reached 88.8 percent completion as of Sunday.

Images published by Brazilian news site Terra Sunday, showed the stadium still without turf, a roof or seating, reports Xinhua.

According to the site, the stadium will be ready by the end of March, three months after FIFA’s original December 2013 deadline.

The venue in Brazil’s southern city of Curtibia will host four matches during the World Cup next June and July.

Five other stadiums remain under construction with Arena da Amazonia in Manaus and Arena Pantanal Cuaiba also causing concerns among the organizers.
