Brazilian musician Ed Motta comes to L.A.

LOS ANGELES (BDCi) – This August, one of Brazil’s most celebrated voices will be performing two shows in California, one of which will be right here in L.A.

The singer grew up surrounded by music and would listen to Earth, Wind & Fire, Stevie Wonder and then-contemporary disco songs with his parents.

His uncle Tim Maia, another influence in his upbringing, is the creator of a Rio-based sub-genre of soul music.

Motta combines his own style with jazz, rock, classical music, American standards and, of course, bossa nova and reggae.

The multifaceted composer, singer and musician Ed Motta will perform in San Francisco on August 2 at the Brick and Morta Music Hall.

Motta will then be in L.A. on August 3 at King King Hollywood, in collaboration with Brazilian Nites Productions.

Tickets cost $30 for General Admission and $40 at the door, if the show has not sold out.
