BRASÍLIA (BDCi) – The Brazilian government has chosen to remove its ambassador from Tel Aviv amid the Israeli military’s excessive use of force in the Gaza Strip.
Brazil is condemning the recent strikes by Israel that have left hundreds of Palestinian civilians dead.
The general consul for Israel in São Paulo said he is disappointed in Brazil’s decision and statements regarding the issue and that actions such as removing an ambassador give terrorists the upper hand.
The Brazilian government says the ambassador was called away for consultations.
Brazil is the second country to recall its ambassador from Israel, following Ecuador earlier in the week.
