Bicyclist killed in Koreatown
L.A. (BDCi) – A bicyclist was shot and killed in Koreatown this past Saturday (26) at around 1:20 p.m. in the 900 block of South New Hampshire Street.
A second bicyclist was also wounded.
Shaoyan Almazan, 19, and a friend were riding their bikes and rounding the corner from Moreno Avenue to New Hampshire Street when the driver of an SUV hit Almazan and knocked him off his bike.
A man then got out of the SUV and shot him multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
As he tried to ride away, the second bicyclist was shot in the hand.
The suspected shooter was a male of medium height and weight with a hooded sweatshirt.
Police are investigating whether road rage, gangs or a personal vendetta were involved.
The motive for the shooting is still unclear.
