GARANHUNS, BRAZIL (BDCi) – Three suspects arrested for the murders of at least two women have confessed to committing cannibalism.
Local police discovered the bodies of two women at the suspects’ home in Garanhuns, Pernambuco, buried on the property.
The bodies were later identified as two women reported missing in Garanhuns earlier this year.
The accused man and two women alleged that they belong to a sect and that “a voice” told them to kill the victims.
They told police they had consumed their victims’ flesh.
One of the female suspects claims to have utilized some of her victims’ skin in making pasties she allegedly sold in the city.
The three suspects will be charged with murder, kidnapping, hiding bodies, fraud and offenses against public health.
An investigation is underway to try and link the suspects to the murders of six other women in the state of Pernambuco.
