AMAZON (BDCi) – A group of people from an indigenous tribe in the Amazon have detained and expelled illegal loggers working in their ancestral lands in the rainforest.
The Ka’apor tribe warriors tied up the loggers and set fire to their equipment, including trucks, chainsaws and even logs.
The loggers were then forced out of the area, having to flee and find their way back on foot.
Leaders from the Ka’apor tribe accused Brazilian authorities of not doing enough to protect them and their lands.
Though the incident took place on August 7, Reuters has only just released the story.
