Ram Trucks to promote in Wal-Mart stores (BDCI)—Chrysler’s Ram Truck will be partnering with Wal-Mart this fall to promote pickup trucks at stores everywhere in the U.S. “We recognize the alignment between truck buyer, the hunting and fishing lifestyle and Wal-Mart,” Marissa Hunter, head of advertising for Ram Truck said today on a web press with the media. “We are working on a promotion that brings all three together.” Hunter made these statements after Ram revealed two new commercials which featured the tagline, “Guts Glory. Ram.” The commercials will air nationally in September and continue to campaign for Ram. “The idea was to create a campaign that would separate Ram from the competitors, “Hunter said. “The western theme reflects a time when a hand shake meant you gave your word, and working hard was respected and rewarded.” Ram broke away from the Dodge brand nearly two years ago and “the spin off has allowed us to focus all of our creative advertising and social media efforts specifically toward truck buyers,” said Ram CEO Fred Diaz.
Ram pickup sales this year were up 25.9% in comparison to a 7.7% rise for the best selling Ford F-series pickups and 7.2% for Chevrolet Silverado.
