LOS ANGELES (BDCi) – – The 2015 Los Angeles auto show is exhibiting a record number of vehicle debuts with over 60 new appearances, including more than 30 world premieres.
More than 63 percent of global debuts are in the luxury and performance vehicle categories including Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, Lexus, Porsche and more.
BDCi News was there for the unveiling of the Mercedes-AMG GT S. It features a state of the art 4.0 liter V8 biturbo engine and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. It goes from zero to sixty in a blink of eye. The rumble of this car intimidates the road itself.
Another eye candy on display was the Porsche 918 Spyder. It’s the world’s first plug-in hybrid super sports car.
To our Latino audience who loves muscle cars – we have both good news and bad news. The bad news is the new version of the Shelby GT350 will not be available outside of North America. However, the good news is that the Mustang GT model will be available in 2015, said Jim Owens, the Shelby Mustang Branch Manager.
“It’s a world class sports car and an American muscle car, and we are so proud that it is going to be available in countries around the world,” Owens said.
One of this reporter’s personal favorites was the new Dodge Challenger. Starting at $26,995 at 30 MPG, this vehicle seemed a bit more affordable then the other sports cars on display.
The L.A. Auto Show will be open to public from Friday, November 21, 2014 to Sunday, November 30, 2014. The show’s next stop will be in Tokyo, Milan, and Abu Dhabi.
